NSF-61-o-rings
NSF 61 certified O-rings
NSF (National Health Foundation) ensures the safety of products involved in water treatment and distribution. NSF 61 (also known as NSF/ANSI Standard 61) restricts certain substances from leaking into drinking water at any point during the production process.
What does it mean to have an NSF 61 certified O-ring? Specific rubber compounds have been tested by independent laboratories and approved for use in water transport and treatment processes. This means that O-rings listed as NSF 61 do not contain any contaminants prohibited by NSF.
