Storage Note for O-rings

Storage Note for O-rings O-rings are highly susceptible to various external environmental conditions, We need to know the storage conditions of O-rings in detail, so as to extend the storage time of O-rings. The storage life of seals is determined by the type of rubber material and storage conditions O-rings are susceptible to a variety of external environmental factors，such as, effects of distortion, oxygen, ozone, light, heat, moisture, oil, or chemical solvents,about how to reserve the O-ring, we need  follow the following rules: 1.Humidity: The relative humidity of the warehouse should be less than 70%, avoid too wet or too dry, avoid condensation phenomenon 2.Temperature: 5-25℃ is the ideal storage temperature.Avoid contact with heat and sunlight 3.Illumination: Avoid direct sunlight or strong artificial light sources with ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet rays in sunlight and moisture in humid environment can easily lead to aging of rubber sealing materials and changes in material size.UV-proof packaging provides the best protection.Warehouse Windows can be coated with red or orange paint or film 4. Radiation: Avoid ionizing radiation damage to seals 5.Oxygen and ozone: Rubber materials should be protected from exposure to circulating air.Ozone is harmful to most elastomers. The following equipment should be avoided in the warehouse: high-voltage electrical equipment, electric motors and other equipment. 6.Be out of shape: Rubber parts should be placed in a free state as far as possible to avoid stretching, compression or other deformation 7.Contact with liquid or semisolid materials: Do not contact solvents, oils, fats or other semi-solid materials 8.Contact with metallic or nonmetallic materials: Do not touch magnetic materials, cast iron, copper and its alloys, or materials containing materials that can damage rubber.Do not use PVC material to pack seals. Different seal materials should not be mixed. 9.Clean: Clean the seals with soap and water as needed.But water should not contact fiber reinforced seals, rubber metal bonding seals, AU material seals.Disinfectants, organic solvents and tools with sharp edges should not be used.After cleaning the seal should be dry at room temperature, not close to the heat source 10.Packaging: Open the package only when necessary, otherwise it may attach foreign matter or dust, or cause damage. When keeping the unsealed product, please take care not to allow dust to adhere to or mix with it, or cause damage. Repacking the product as original as possible

What is NBR (Nitrile butadiene rubber)

NBR (Nitrile butadiene rubber), in short nitrile rubber, is also known under the trade names Nitrile®, Perbunan® and BUNA-N®. It is an elastomer, a synthetic polymer obtained by the copolymerization of acrylonitrile and 1,3-butadiene. It is a “random” copolymer, that is, the order of the acrylonitrile and butadiene groups in the polymer chain is unordered.

What is EPDM

We use EPDM rubber in  sealing solutions. It is an abbreviation for “Ethylene-Propylene-Thieen-Methylene” and is a group of synthetic rubbers/elastomers. EPDM is obtained by the co-polymerization of ethylene (= ethylene), propylene (= propylene) and a die, which is an unsaturated hydrocarbon with two double bonds. EPDM is therefore a ter-polymer, a polymer obtained from three monomers.

What is FFKM

FFKMs (according to standard ASTM 1418) (equivalent to FFPMs according to ISO / DIN 1629 standard) are perfluoroelastomeric compounds that contain an even higher amount of fluoride than FKM. The name Kalrez® is a trademark of Dupont. The material is actually an improved version of Viton with 20% more fluorine in the chains, making it an extremely expensive per fluorocarbon elastomer. FFKM seals often last longer in demanding chemically aggressive process environments and have better sealing possibilities than other elastomers. They have improved resistance to very high temperatures to slightly above 300 ° C, chemicals and are even resistant to environments where oxygen-plasma is present for many hours.
